Holidays. Feels good. You wake up and you're not supposed to do anything. And it's going to last for two weeks so. During whole last month nothing special happened. I was always working and skating on weekends. On previous Saturday my old friend Maria came to London to listen "The Apples". We came to my place, booked tickets on-line and then lighted up a blunt. Then we came to Camden Town - a mothership of nightclubs, pubs and discos. We came Jazz Caffe, where received our tickets... The concert was amazing, they didn't warmed up, just came and started playing jazz. Crowd was full of energy and Maria was completely baked, so we went straight home after concert. Yesterday she went to Amsterdam, kinda funny: we supposed to wakeup at 4.30 am and be at Liverpool Street station at 6.10 am. Easy mission almost failed, because she woke up and turned my alarm off. By some miracle reason, we woke up at 5.58 am and in a quick rush ran to station... About 6.15 am I said "good bye" to her and she took a train to Amsterdam.
Besides good news there are sad ones as well. Yesterday 9/08/2010 my grandfather Aleksey Hlabov died. Death probably was caused by smoking and drinking. Really sad about this, but this is life so I will keep up smiling no matter what... In 1970-s while he was driving a truck, his comrades - thiefs wanted to get away with truck and said that he'll get 20% (I don't know what exactly happened). But he didn't listened to them. They assaulted and one hit him into head with hammer and disappeared. Sometimes you pay like this, if you are too honest. Operation ended with stainless steel plate in his head.

"The Apples"
TODAY !
Today happened pretty much unexpected thing ... Maria Ficher came to London to visit group "The Apples" , I never heard about them. But anyway we're going there, because ticket are waiting for us ! More story whole weekend, stay tuned !!!
Last times ... I skated as much as was possible, and visited with Mile End skaters, a lot of street spots. My ankle still doesn't allow me to skate how I would actually prefer. So my choice became bowl/pool. Can't compare my skills with other skaters, cause they're better ...
And sad news are that I'm not going back to Tallinn, a the same time I don't regret cause in my "hands" is whole London and 2 weeks of hollydays ! So I'll try to get some footage...

First steps when you arrive
Hello, my reader. I hope that in this article you'll find something good for yourself. When I first came to London excitement ruled me for first few weeks. But you need to be awake if you don't want to starve ...
Flat: this is very important for you. Place where you going to live will be quite expensive, for example £70-£100 per week + don't forget about deposit( when you leave you get this money back ) averagely it is 2 weeks further. So in first day you need to have on your hands(bankcard is better) about £400 to pay for rent and shit...
Transport: all you know about London taxi ... forget it. Bus and metro are your legs here. I pay for 1,2,3 zones £30.20 per week, but I just cant stand long-ass 40 minutes trip, sweating ... well you'll discover it anyway. So I prefer tube.
Food: actually it has same price, but drinks are a bit expensive. Try to save money - seriously they flow like river. So if you cook by your self (check previous updates), you easily can live on only £3-£4 per day. We used to buy food for like 3-5 days, and £20 was enough for two of us. Since 5th of March I work in a pub, so get 50 % off, but you can find a better place: pub with tips, free food, free accommodation.
Where to go in first two weeks ? Okay, mate. First of all you need to get National Insurance number, then a bank account. Second one is a bit difficult, in first time you will brainfuck your head a lot, but no worries. Lloyds TSB, but you need to be damn sure that you always have £10 on your account. Then National Insurance, you will call to JobCentrePlus. When you have a bank account, it is time to go and find yourself temporary or permanent job. Actually system of finding is very easy ...

Don't Give Me No Bammer.
3, 2, 1, comin in with a bang. It's one white Alex, not a muthaf**kin gang.This week nothing happened because of work and no free time, except weekend. So on Saturday I've met Valetine and his girlfriend Elizabeth. We vent to Natural History Museum. I was so hyped and stoked to see fossils of Dinosaurs and they skeletons. There you completely forget such thing like religion. Big collection of reptiles, amphibians, squids and birds, dozen of mammals... all of them are on formalin. The body is dead, but the liquid saves it from, and it doesn't get rotten. A lot of things to see, I was there about 8 hours, and I still didn't finished, still to see crystals and other minerals. After, we came home and decided to smoke some herbs. We were searching for a £10 deal for like 3 hours, no one was agree, so we both £20 bag. I am satisfied and still enjoying it. I miss skateboarding, my leg need a rest, but I need money.

Greetings brothers and sisters! This week nothing interesting happened actually, except Friday. I met a lot of honey-dips. First girl was introduced to me by Carie. So I liked Rosie and she liked me. Eventually she has a shorty and needs to babysit him on weekends. Then I smoked some herb during my break with serious guy, he works for huge company which provides lawyers with documents and so on. Then we finished, me and Liam( barmen ) went to other pub for few drinks, there was that gorgeous French girl - Julie. Both these girls remind me delicious latino models from commercials or Jay Z girls girls girls video clip. Then we went home in different directions, I almost fight random Indian guy, because he started teasing me. But his friends calmed me and him down. I went further and saw that girl crying, asked her what happened and stuff. Hugged, kissed and took home. At last, first sex in UK. Emma, she's 24. But we enjoyed each other, took her number just in case, and she went to work.

VENUS FLY-TRAP
As new plant in my room catches ( actually I'm feeding it by my self ) insects - time goes with their death. And since my last update I have enough things to write, so you can read and I hope enjoy it - a complete reader's digest.
Sunday. 6 am. Hangover... I woke up with "WTF!?" face, because of music, which was play'n loud. Probably neighbours will complain ... come on - it's Biggie. That should be a worth excuse. Then I went to closest cash machine - 700 meters, 24H off licence shop - 500 meters. Got myself 2 "Kronenbourg 1664" and salted peanuts... Paradise ... Came home started updating at 7 am, eventually fell asleep and woke up at 11.30 am - back to laptop.
But you wanna ask me, why I have a hangover. Well, yesterday we had a staff party... One word: Magda - damn ... that girly woman will make you want her. She's 32, but trust me guys, when you see her, you imagine how Notorious B.I.G.'s song "me and my bitch" gets a video clip. No, I didn't layed her or at least had a proper French kiss, just enjoying being her friend. After all she has a boyfriend - typical, how we say it in Estonia "oss". Honestly - lookin' forward to get experience from her in bed.
Monday. Bank hollyday. Went to Mile End skatepark, sticked with Simon, Jan, Gustavo, Peter and Alex. Warmed up with bs casper flips and few ss flips, and all together (6) we wen't to St. Paul's. Simon knew some spot in school. When we came there it felt so dangerous for me - cameras, high fence ... But we managed. I was the last to climb over a 3 meeter door\fence - which is the only access to spot. I grabbed my board with a very exited face, was scared to ollie big 3... but we all know that music actually inspires us mostly ( well, I used to watch BBC footage about animals before skating ). So switchin' on my mp3 Wu Tang - 7 chamber pt. 2, was enough to ollie and ss ollie it, tried my signature trick but didn't made it. Gustavo is a Columbian young man, who landed kickflip with 3-5 try's and then busted clean tre flip . Then Peter ollied that long 9, Simon started filming... trick took about 10-15 try to land it. I never saw him doing hardflips on flat... But hell yeah !!! He landed a proper hardflip down long 9 ... It shocked all of us. Then I ss ollied that, but landing was with both hands on ground and 180 revert, I tried again and landed on last step with spraining my ankle. Ouch. Doesn't look good, but lookin forward to get back. Nollie heel would look good, anyway what's the difference between 5 and 9 ? - yes only 4 steps.

"Den' Pobedy" (Russian: День Победы, English: Victory Day)
Today (9 of May) is Russian's most proud hollyday. Victory day. For me it's a proud feeling to be Russian, a good Russian. I feel bad that most are junkies, and are hated by other countries. But still I have this mindset, cause my roots go back to Russia. So I just want to pay respect and promise to remember that they defeated those nazists. My grandgrandfather ( on mothers line ) was a sniper/commander and spent after war ending about half year in Germany for some reason. His jacket was covered in medals.
On Friday I both a laptop. I went with new flatmate (Yuri) to Curry's. They asked how long am I here, answer was '' 3 months ''. Cashier said, that at least I need to be in UK for 3 years. Yuri said to lie in other Curry's. I did so. Pretty funny alibi '' I was a sponsored skateboarder, but my knee injury stopped ma career. Now I work in a pub ''. It worked, he believed to my story. I made a contract for 12 months, so I pay 40 £ each month.
